It’s time to begin readying ourselves for week number nine of the FanDuel Fantasy Football season. This week we have several Quarterbacks in terrific matchups that could go off for big numbers. I’ve whittled that list down to five and here we go.
Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers ($9100) has a terrific matchup with an Indianapolis Colts defense allowing 287 passing yards a game and 14 touchdowns. There is also a huge 54 point over under in this one and the Packers are an early week seven point favorite at home. Rodgers has been extremely consistent this season with 1742 passing yards and 17 touchdown passes good for 22.5 FanDuel points a game. The Packers don’t have much of a running game so Rodgers will be throwing like crazy against the hapless Colts secondary this Sunday.
Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott ($7600) has a terrific matchup on Sunday against a Cleveland Browns defense allowing 277.8 passing yards a game and 19 touchdowns this season. The Cowboys are currently a 7.5 point road favorite with a 47 point over under. This season Prescott has thrown for 1773 yards and nine touchdowns this season good for 19.3 FanDuel points a game. For those of you who won’t be using Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott Prescott might be a very good option this week.
Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota ($7600) has a very good matchup on the road against the San Diego Chargers. The over under opened at 48.5 but has now dropped to 47 points with the Chargers an early week five point favorite. The Chargers are allowing 275 passing yards a game and 11 touchdowns this season. Mariota has been solid with 1874 yards and 14 touchdowns this season good enough for 18.4 FanDuel points a game. Mariota might go overlooked in this one but as his 30 point FanDuel outing against the Dolphins suggests Mariota has big game potential.
Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck ($8000) has a nice price tag with the potential for a shootout with a Green Bay Packers team allowing 247 passing yards and 13 touchdowns this season. As I mentioned earlier there is a huge over under in this one with the home Packers the early week seven point favorite and Luck has been solid this season averaging 21.7 FanDuel points a game with 2284 passing yards and 16 touchdowns this season. Luck is $1100 dollars cheaper than Rodgers and it might be a better matchup this week.
Shall we pick on the Oakland Raiders defense again this week? With Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian ($7200)? Why the heck not!! The Raiders are allowing 285 passing yards a game and 15 touchdowns this season. The Broncos are a slim one point road favorite this week with a small 46 point over under. I don’t like to target games with this small an overall point prediction but the Raiders defense isn’t very good and Siemian has been decent in a boom or bust kind of way so why not? Siemian is been okay this season with 1487 yards and eight touchdown passes this season good enough for 12.9 FanDuel points a game.
The Running Backs for week nine of the FanDuel Fantasy Football season should be an interesting to say the least…..and here is what I have for you this week.
The San Francisco 49ers has a horrible defense against the run. That usually bodes well for whoever is playing them but this week if we want to take advantage of this we have to make a choice; either New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram ($6700) or RB Tim Hightower ($6100). Last week Ingram was benched in the first quarter after another fumble and Hightower played the rest of the game rushing for 102 yards. My money is on Ingram to win the day against this horrible defense allowing 185 rushing yards a game and 10 touchdowns this season.
The Cleveland Browns defense against the run is just as bad as the 49ers; and unlike the last situation we know Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott ($9200) is the number one RB and the most expensive football player on FanDuel’s main slate of games. This season Elliott has a NFL leading 799 rushing yards and has scored five touchdowns this season good for 18.6 FanDuel points a game. The Browns are allowing 143.8 rushing yards per game and 10 touchdowns. Okay, maybe not as bad as the 49ers but they still stink. Elliott will be in every one of my lineups on Sunday.
The Miami Dolphins rushing defense is allowing 135.6 rushing yards a game and have given up six touchdowns; New York Jets RB Matt Forte ($7500) is going to be bringing his 542 rushing yards and six touchdowns to Miami on Sunday. This season Forte is also averaging 15.1 FanDuel points a game and should have a field day against this Dolphins defense on Sunday.
Denver Broncos RB Devontae Booker ($7000) has a terrific matchup this weekend on the road in Oakland; since taking over for injured RB C.J. Anderson two weeks ago Booker has rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns. That ain’t too shabby and the Raiders are used to giving up yards; like 125 rushing yards a game and eight touchdowns this season. Booker has a nice price and a very good matchup worthy of consideration this week.
Kansas City Chiefs RB Charcandrick West ($5600) is the only healthy running back left in the Chiefs backfield. If RB Spencer Ware ($8000) is able to play then by all means play him against a Jacksonville Jaguars defense allowing 124.7 rushing yards a game and nine touchdowns this season. If Ware is unable to go West is a more than suitable, and cheaper alternative for you to use on Sunday!
This week we have plenty of choices at Wide Receiver (WR). Hopefully we make the right choices this week. Here are five players that I think should have great games for you this Sunday at FanDuel.
Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson ($8200) has a great matchup against an Indianapolis Colts defense allowing the WR1 to average 86 yards a game. Overall this Colts defense is allowing 287.8 passing yards a game and 14 touchdowns on the season. Nelson is averaging 59.3 yards per game, has six touchdowns and is averaging 13 FanDuel points per game. Currently the Packers are a seven point home favorite and the 54 point over under is the highest on the main slate. I like Nelson a LOT this week.
Los Angeles Rams WR Kenny Britt ($6000) has a tremendous under the radar matchup against a Carolina Panthers defense allowing the WR1 to average 110 yards a game and the defense as a unit is allowing 286 yards a game and 16 touchdowns this season. Britt has been solid with 33 catches for 535 yards and two touchdowns good for 11.4 FanDuel points a game. Carolina is currently a three point road favorite with a 43 point over under. If the Rams are smart they will attack this Panther secondary, use Britt a bunch and win us some cash!
New Orleans Saints WR Brandin Cooks ($7600) has a great matchup with a San Francisco 49er defense allowing the WR1 to average 81 yards a game and as a unit teams average 222 yards a game and 16 touchdowns. This season Cooks has 36 receptions for 534 yards and five touchdowns and averages 14.7 FanDuel points a game. The Saints are a 3.5 point road favorite with a huge 52 point over under so having some shares of Cook might make sense this week.
Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace ($6600) has a great matchup with a Pittsburgh Steelers defense allowing the WR1 84.4 yards a game and as a unit 283 passing yards a game with eight touchdowns. Wallace has 35 receptions for 490 yards and three touchdowns for a FanDuel average of 12.6 points a game. The Ravens are a three point home favorite with a 43 point over under. Just like Britt I think Wallace is under owned this week and might make folks sorry they didn’t roster Wallace this week.
Philadelphia Eagles WR Nelson Agholor ($5200) rarely if ever gets mentioned in Fantasy Football circles. Unless of course it’s to sit him. This week he has a matchup with the New York Giants allowing WR3 to average 90.8 yards a game and as a unit 267 yards a game and seven touchdowns this season. Agholor has 21 receptions for 216 yards and a FanDuel average of 5.5 points a game. The Giants are currently a 2.5 point home favorite with an over under of 43. Sometime the illogical choices win in DFS and Agholor will be flying way under the radar this week!
It’s time to wrap this week’s suggestions with the Tight Ends for week nine of the FanDuel Fantasy Football season. This position is never easy; and this is what I have for you.
San Diego Chargers TE Antonio Gates ($5500) has a terrific matchup this week with a Tennessee Titans defense allowing tight ends to average 70.8 yards a game. Gates has 21 receptions for 152 yards and three touchdowns this season good enough for seven FanDuel points a game. Gates has 13 red zone targets this season and hauled in four of them to account for his three touchdowns this season. The Chargers are an early week five point home favorite with a solid 47 point over under. I like the price here and this seems like a great opportunity for Gates this week.
It’s hard to roster San Francisco 49ers these days but TE Vance McDonald ($4500) appears healthy and has a good matchup at home against a New Orleans Saints defense allowing tight ends to average 49.5 yards a game. This season McDonald has eight receptions for 142 yards and two touchdowns good for six FanDuel points a game. McDonald has just one red zone target and he caught for a touchdown. The Saints are a three point road favorite in a game with an over under of 51 so Vegas expects someone to score from the 49ers and it may as well be McDonald on Sunday!
Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten ($5200) leads NFL tight ends with 13 red zone targets and he has a great matchup this Sunday against a Cleveland Browns defense allowing tight ends to average 65.8 yards per game. Witten has 30 receptions for 290 yards and just one touchdown good for 7.1 FanDuel points a game. I forgot to mention Witten caught seven of those 13 red zone targets and that’s how he scored his lone touchdown. Dallas is an early week seven point favorite and the over under of 48.5 indicates Vegas believes a bunch of points will be scored so why not Witten?
Indianapolis Colts TE Jack Doyle ($5300) has a great matchup with a Green Bay Packers defense allowing tight ends to average 63.5 yards a game. This season Doyle has 31 receptions for 318 yards and four touchdowns and an 8.9 FanDuel points per game average. Doyle also has ten red zone targets catching eight of them for 80 yards and three touchdowns. The huge over under of 54 points with the Packers an early week 7.5 point home favorite leads me to believe Colts QB Andrew Luck will be airing it out on Sunday.
Cleveland Browns TE Gary Barnidge ($5200) has a very solid matchup with a Dallas Cowboys defense allowing tight ends to average 65.1 yards per game. This season Barnidge has 33 receptions for 403 yards without a touchdown and a 7.3 FanDuel points per game average. Barnidge has five red zone targets this season catching one of them but in a game with a 48.5 over under maybe Barnidge will get a few more opportunities than usual.
Good luck at FanDuel!
