Week Five FanDuel Fantasy Football Suggestions

Week five of the FanDuel Fantasy Football season is fast approaching. I don’t know how you’ve been doing this season but the QB’s I’ve been playing on Sunday’s haven’t gone off enough to win some big cash…….let’s try and change that in Week five of the FanDuel Fantasy Football season.

Quarterbacks

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady ($8700) is back from suspension and he has a terrific matchup for his return on the road against the Cleveland Browns. The Browns defense has allowed QB’s to average 17.92 Fantasy Points a game this season and Vegas has an over under of 46.5 points with the Patriots being a 10.5 point favorite. Last season Brady averaged 22 FanDuel points a game and this could be an interesting Sunday for Brady and for those of you who decide to pay the price for Brady against the Browns.

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers ($9100) has a great matchup at home with the New York Giants this Sunday. Rodgers is having a good season thus far averaging 22.8 FanDuel points a game with nine touchdowns passes and two rushing touchdowns. He’s up against a Giants defense allowing QB’s to average 14.81 Fantasy points a game but Rodgers is probably the best QB the Giants have faced all season. I like the early 48.5 point over under Vegas set and the Packers are an early week 7 point favorite so it’s all systems go for Rodgers this week.

It looks as though there is going to be a big scoring affair down in Oakland this Sunday as the San Diego Chargers head into town to take on the Raiders. Vegas has set the over under at 50.5 points with the Raiders being an early week four point favorite. The Raiders QB Derek Carr ($8,100) is averaging 21 FanDuel points a game and is coming off of a four touchdown performance this past Sunday on the road in Baltimore. The Chargers are allowing QB’s to average 17.93 Fantasy Points a game and I like Carr in this one.

The problem with the Chargers Raiders game is that I like BOTH QB’s. I’ve already mentioned the possibility of a shootout and the high over under totals and of course I mentioned the Raiders Derek Carr; but Chargers QB Philip Rivers ($8,300)  has an equally good matchup as well. The Raiders defense is allowing QB’s to average 21.51 Fantasy points a game with Rivers averaging 17.4 FanDuel points a game. Rivers is a bit pricier than Carr but could make for a sneaky tournament play on Sunday.

If salary relief is what you are looking for and if Chicago Bears QB Brian Hoyer ($6000) plays he has a very good matchup on the road against the Indianapolis Colts. Over the past two starts Hoyer is averaging roughly 19 FanDuel points a game against a Colts defense allowing QB’s to average 18.64 Fantasy points a game. The Colts are an early week four point favorite at home with a 47.5 point over under. Hoyer might not be the sexy choice this week but where else are you going to get a solid QB averaging nearly 19 FanDuel points a game for $6000?

Running Backs

New England Patriots RB LeGarrette Blount ($7500) has a terrific matchup with the Cleveland Browns this week. Actually what makes this a terrific matchup is the Patriots are favored by ten and that usually means Blount will see plenty of fourth quarter carries. This season the Browns are allowing RB’s to average 11.27 Fantasy points a game and Blount is doing fine this season averaging nearly 15 FanDuel points. I like the price, I like the matchup and I really like Blount in these types of situations.

Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson ($8000) has a very good matchup at home against an Atlanta Falcons defense allowing RB’s to average 16.50 Fantasy points a game. Vegas has the over under at 47 points with the Broncos being an early week seven point favorite. For the season Anderson is averaging 15.3 FanDuel points a game and has 3 rushing touchdowns (TD) and one receiving TD. I like the opportunity Anderson has to go big against a mediocre Falcons defense.

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray ($8400) is having a fantastic season for the Titans averaging 21.8 FanDuel points a game including three rushing TD’s and one via the air. Murray has a very good matchup this week against a Miami Dolphins defense allowing RB’s to average 8.44 Fantasy points a game. Miami is currently a four point home favorite with the over under being set at 43 points. Miami hasn’t seen a RB like Murray this season and if everything breaks right Murray might be money in the bank.

I’ve enjoyed watching Buffalo Bills RB DeSean McCoy ($7800) play football this season. He has an interesting matchup on the road this week against the Los Angeles Rams. McCoy is averaging 17.7 FanDuel points a game with three rushing TD’s and one receiving TD. He’s up against a Rams defense allowing RB’s to average 7.93 Fantasy points a game. That seems like a tough matchup but the over under of 40 points plus the Rams being an early 3 point favorite seems to me to be a close fought game won between the trenches and I like Buffalo and McCoy much better than the Rams and Todd Gurley ($7600) this week.

Any list of RB touts must have the Pittsburgh Steelers Le’Veon Bell ($8600) on it. Bell came back from suspension and ran for 144 yards on 18 carries and caught 5 passes Sunday against Kansas City. This week the Steelers host the NY Jets who have allowed RB’s to average 9.05 Fantasy points a game. The over under on this one is set at 48.5 points with Pittsburgh and early week 7 point favorite. Bell is special and he’s very pricey but to me he’s worth every penny spent.

Wide Receivers

The Cleveland Browns might be a ten point underdog at home but I still like WR Terrelle Pryor ($7200) this week against the New England Patriots. Pryor is averaging 13.4 FanDuel points a game and is averaging ten targets a game. The Patriots are allowing WR’s to average 21.20 Fantasy points a game this season and if things go the way the money is dictating the Browns will be playing catchup most of this game. That bodes well for Pryor and for those of you who decide to play Pryor this week.

When you think of big games WR Antonio Brown ($9600) should always come to mind. Brown has four TD’s on the season and is averaging 18.7 FanDuel points a game for the Pittsburgh Steelers. This Sunday the Steelers host a New York Jets secondary allowing WR’s to average 23.15 Fantasy points a game. I have a feeling  that average is going to go up after Brown gets done with them. The over under was set at 48 points with the Steelers an early week seven point favorite. Brown is pricey but he is usually worth it so plug him in with confidence this week.

Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace ($6300) is priced just right for his matchup at home against the Washington Redskins. The Redskins secondary is allowing WR’s to average 26.95 Fantasy points a game and that looks good to me. This season Wallace is averaging 12.5 FanDuel points a game with three touchdowns and is averaging seven targets a game. Vegas set the over under at 47 points with the Ravens an early 4 point favorite. This is a great price and a great matchup definitely worthy of your consideration this week.

San Diego Chargers WR Travis Benjamin ($6500) has a great matchup in what Vegas projects as the highest total for the main slate when the Chargers travel to Oakland to play the Raiders. Benjamin has been somewhat of a disappointment thus far averaging just 11.5 FanDuel points and just two TD’s but that could all change against a Raiders secondary allowing WR’s to average 31.30 Fantasy points a game. Vegas set the over under at 52.5 with the Raiders an early week 3 point favorite. I’m hoping this is the week Benjamin has a monster game.

Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper ($7200) is in the same boat as Benjamin; we’ve been expecting a monster game all season and he just hasn’t delivered but it won’t get better than this Sunday against a Chargers secondary allowing WR’s 22.10 Fantasy points. Cooper is averaging just 10.9 FanDuel points a game and with that huge over under this might be his week to shine.

Tight Ends

San Diego Chargers TE Hunter Henry ($5400) filled in admirably last week for injured TE Antonio Gates ($5,700) scoring 14.1 FanDuel points on a season high seven targets for 61 yards and a touchdown (TD). This week the Chargers are in Oakland to play a Raiders defense allowing TE’s to average 8.5 Fantasy points a game. There is a 50 point over under in this one with the Raiders an early three point favorite so if Gates can’t play then by all means use Henry on Sunday.

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph ($5,500) is having a fantastic season thus far averaging 12.4 FanDuel points a game with three TD’s. His task this Sunday is against a Houston Texans defense allowing TE’s to average a measly 2.45 Fantasy points a game. That really is a difficult task but this over under of 39.5 with Minnesota being a 6 point favorite at home has me intrigued due to the low price point and Rudolph’s success this season.

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz ($5600) has a tremendous matchup on the road against a Detroit Lions defense allowing TE’s to average 15.93 Fantasy points a game. There’s a solid 46 point over under with the visiting Eagles an early three point favorite. Ertz is averaging 8.8 FanDuel points a game with seven targets thrown his way in the lone game he played this season. Ertz has been cleared to play and I like this play quite a bit this week.

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert ($6,200) is still listed as questionable at the time of this writing but if he plays I like the matchup against a Dallas Cowboys defense allowing TE’s to average 12.83 Fantasy points a game. If Eifert can’t play I suggest pivoting to Bengals TE C.J. Uzomah ($5100). Uzomah is averaging five FanDuel points a game and roughly five targets. The over under is set at 45.5 points with the Bengals an early one point road favorite. I like the matchup no matter who plays TE for the Bengals on Sunday.

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski ($7200) has a great matchup on the road this Sunday against a Cleveland Browns defense allowing TE’s to average 11.3 Fantasy points a game. Vegas set the over under at 46.5 points with the Pats being an early week 10 point road favorite. Gronkowski is still working his way back from injury and the return of his buddy Tom Brady  could bring about big results this Sunday.

Good luck at FanDuel this week!
