Fantasy Football: Draft Kings Week Six Main Slate Picks

Welcome to the Week 6 edition of my favorite DraftKings plays. This article will be focusing on the main slate of Draftkings, which features 13 games on Sunday. As you may know, roster construction varies from week to week depending on where it seems appropriate use value options. For cash games this week, I believe the best strategy is to go cheaper at wide receiver and pay up everywhere else. In GPPs, it’s probably best to do the opposite since not many people will be thinking paying up at wide receiver. With that being said, let’s go ahead and take a look at my favorite cash game, value plays, and GPP options for Week 6.

Quarterback

Cash Game  Drew Brees NO vs. CAR $7,900
Both quarterbacks in this matchup are in great spots, but I prefer to use Drew Brees at $200 less. Brees has been amazing at home throughout his career with 101.1 quarterback rating and the Panthers defense is not nearly as dominant as it was a year ago. Also, Vegas is projecting this game to be a shootout with the highest projected total on the board.

Value Play Tyrod Taylor BUF vs. SF $5,300
Tyrod Taylor has been far from great this season. However, he should have plenty of opportunities to score this week since he is playing against the fast paced, 49ers. Taylor is always a threat to pick up yards with his legs and at this salary he makes for a great value options in GPPs.

GPP Option Tom Brady NE vs. CIN $7,700
If you want to spend up in your GPP lineup, consider using Tom Brady. I sense that Cam Newton, Drew Brees and Ben Roethlisberger will be the three chalk options this week, with Brady coming in at lower ownership. Brady looked great in his season debut last week and anytime you can own Brady at a low ownership in GPPs, he is definitely a great option.

Other Plays

  • Cam Newton CAR @ NO $8,100 (Cash)
  • Colin Kaepernick @ BUF $5,000 (Value)
  • Marcus Mariota TEN vs. CLE $6,100 (GPP)

Running Back

Cash Game Le’Veon Bell PIT @ MIA $7,700
Le’Veon Bell showed in Week 5 that he can be counted on, even in somewhat difficult matchups. The Jets’ defense was able to hold Bell to only 66 rushing yards on 20 rushing attempts, but Bell was able to pick up additional yardage with nine receptions and 88 receiving yards. Bell should have no problem succeeding once again this week against the middle of the pack, Dolphins’ rushing defense.

Value Play Giovani Bernard CIN @ NE $4,600
Jeremy Hill came out of the game early in Week 5 with an injury and Giovani Bernard shined in garbage time against the Cowboys. Even if Hill is able to suit up this week, it is shaping up to be a Bernard game since the Bengals are nine point underdogs to the Patriots. With the Patriots’ defense looking to take A.J. Green completely out of the equation, Bernard could do a ton of damage with receptions out of the backfield.

GPP Option Ezekiel Elliott DAL @ GB $7,000
This kid is truly special. Ezekiel Elliott had another great game, this time against a respectable Bengals’ defense. Elliott will likely be tested again this week against the Packers, who have allowed the fewest DraftKings points to running backs this season. Since it is a difficult matchup, he will likely be low owned in GPPs. However, he is talented enough to be used, even in the most difficult of matchups.

Other Plays

  • DeMarco Murray TEN vs. CLE $7,700 (Cash)
  • Jamaal Charles KC @ OAK $5,100 (Value)
  • Todd Gurley LA @ DET $6,700 (GPP)

Wide Receiver

Cash Game Jarvis Landry  vs. PIT $6,800

Jarvis Landry easily had one of the worst games of his career in Week 5. However, he still has nearly twice as many targets as anyone on the Dolphins and he is mile ahead of everyone else on the Dolphins in receiving yards. On paper this looks like a difficult matchup against the Steelers, but the Steelers have struggled to defend slot receivers this season.

Value Play Cameron Meredith CHI vs. JAC $4,100
Cameron Meredith came out of nowhere in Week 5 to have a great game against the Colts. While I cannot predict that he will have nine receptions, 130 yards and a touchdown every week, he should still be heavily involved in the Bears offense, since Kevin White has been placed on injured reserve. Meredith and the Bears have a decent matchup against the Jaguars in Week 6 and Meredith should see a decent amount of targets once again.

GPP Option Will Fuller HOU vs. IND $5,900
Will Fuller was shut down by the Vikings’ elite defense in Week 5. Things should be better for Fuller in Week 6 against the Colts though. With Vontae Davis likely to be shadowing DeAndre Hopkins, Fuller should see a much easier matchup against Rashaan Melvin for most of the day.

Other Plays

  • Kelvin Benjamin CAR @ NO $8,100 (Cash)
  • Brandon LaFell CIN @ NE $3,200 (Value)
  • Doug Baldwin SEA vs. ATL $6,500 ( GPP)

Tight End

Cash Game Greg Olsen CAR @ NO $7,000
Since most of the top dollar wide receivers have difficult matchups this week, you should be able to fit Greg Olsen into your lineup with ease. Olsen has been great the past two weeks and he has an outstanding matchup against the Saints this week, who have really struggled at defending the pass dating back to the beginning of the 2015 season.

Value Zach Miller vs. JAC $3,800
Zach Miller continues to be a cheap, safe option and he continues to be heavily targeted in the Bears’ offense. Assuming that Brian Hoyer starts again this week for the Bears, Miller should be in line for another heavy workload against the Jaguars.

GPP Option Delanie Walker TEN vs. CLE $5,500

Other Plays

  • Jimmy Graham SEA vs. AT $4,500 (Cash)
  • Coby Fleener NO vs. CAR $3,500 (Value)
  • Julius Thomas JAC @ CHI $4,200 (GPP)

Defense

Cash Game Titans TEN vs. CLE $3,300
The Titans’ defense was able to create a lot of pressure against the Dolphins in Week 5, accumulating six sacks. Now the Titans return home to face the Browns, in what should be an easier matchup for the Titans.

Value Play Bears CHI vs. JAC $2,300
This value option is more suitable for GPP contests than cash games. The Bears have been much the past two weeks, putting some pressure on the opposing quarterbacks and getting some takeaways. This week they have a favorable matchup against Blake Bortles, who has been turnover prone during his career.

GPP Option Texans HOU vs. IND $2,900
I know that J.J. Watt is out for the season, but the Texans still have a respectable defensive unit. The Colts’ offensive line has been absolutely dreadful this season, so the Texans should be able to rack up some sacks this weekend.
