Fantasy Basketball: Week 18 Waiver Wire PLUS Trade Deadline Winners and Losers

Week 19 of the Fantasy Basketball season begins Monday February 27, 2017! In just two or three weeks the playoffs begin. Are you ready? I have some ideas for you to consider for this week.

 

Teams with four games this week are the Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks, Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, New York Knicks, Oklahoma City Thunder, Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns, Toronto Raptors, Utah Jazz and Washington Wizards.

Every other NBA team has three games on their schedule this week.

 

Point Guards

Philadelphia 76ers point guard T.J. McConnell has four games this week and over the past five games he’s averaging 2.2 steals. If he keeps that up this week that’s nine steals right there. He’ll also score around 11 points, grab four rebounds and get you eight assists per night. Great shooting percentages and Usage Rate of 16 percent and is available in just over 60 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.

Dallas Mavericks point guard Yogi Ferrell has four games this week and now that Deron Williams has been waived Yogi is the man at the point for the Mavs. Over his past five games Ferrell is averaging 9.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.2 steals and just over a triple a night. He’s also averaging 28 minutes per game and has solid shooting percentages with a 19.5 percent Usage Rate. Ferrell is also eligible at shooting guard and is currently available in just over 55 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.

Dallas Mavericks point guard Seth Curry has been solid over the past five games averaging 16.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists, one steal and just over two triples a night. Curry also played 32.2 minutes per game during that stretch and has an 18.4 Usage Rate with great shooting percentages.  Curry is also eligible at shooting guard, has four games this week and is available in just over 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.

Shooting Guards

Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard Kyle Korver has been incredible since being traded to the Cavs. Over the past five games the veteran shooting guard is averaging 14 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.2 steals and just over three triples a game.  Korver averaged 27.2 minutes per game during that five game stretch and has a Usage Rate of 17.2 percent with exceptional shooting percentages during the month of February. Cleveland has four games this week and is available in just over 65 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.

Atlanta Hawks shooting guard Tim Hardaway Jr is having a very good season and averaged 17.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, three assists and nearly three triples a night over his past five games. Hardaway also averaged 34 minutes during that five game stretch and has a 24.3 percent Usage Rate with exceptional shooting percentages during the month of February. Atlanta has four games this week and Hardaway is available in just over 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.

Denver Nuggets shooting guard Gary Harris is starting to heat up; over the last five games he’s averaging 20.4 points, 2.4 rebounds, one assist, 1.4 steals and nearly four triples a night while playing 32.2 minutes a game.  His February Usage Rate of 19.8 is solid as are his shooting percentages. Harris also has eligibility at small forward, the Nuggets have three games this week and Harris is available in just over 60 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.

Small Forwards

Milwaukee Bucks small forward Michael Beasley is another who has put together a nice season and over the past five games averaged 16.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists with terrific shooting percentages while playing 27 minutes a night. Beasley also boasts a 26 percent Usage Rate for the month of February, the Bucks have four games this week and Beasley is available in just over 85 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.

Golden State Warriors small forward Andre Iguodala is having another consistent season and over the past five games is averaging 11.6 points, four rebounds, 3.2 assists, one block, a steal and a triple with solid shooting percentages. Iguodala also averaged 25.2 minutes a game during that stretch with a February Usage Rate of 13.2 percent. The Warriors have four games this week and Iguodala is available in over 75 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.

Phoenix Suns small forward T.J. Warren averaged over 30 minutes in his last five games and scored 11.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, one assist and a steal per night as well as solid shooting percentages. Warren had a Usage Rate of 17 percent for the month of February, the Suns have four games this week and Warren is available in just over 70 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.

Power Forwards

Phoenix Suns power forward Marquese Chriss has four games this week and over the past five games Chriss is averaging 10.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists, a block and a steal while getting 25 minutes a night. I like his February Usage Rate of 19.2 percent and Chriss is available in just over 90 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.

Portland Trail Blazers power forward Jusuf Nurkic has three games this week and over his brief time in Portland is averaging 28 minutes a night and is averaging a double double. He’s also averaging three steals a game and 1.5 blocks per night. He also has a Usage Rate of 20.2, is also center eligible and is available in just over 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.

Charlotte Hornets power forward Frank Kaminsky has three games this week and over the past five games is averaging 17 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.4 blocks, one steal and two triples on 34 minutes a night. Average shooting percentages with a February Usage Rate of 25.1 percent, is also center eligible and is available in just over 65 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.

Centers

New York Knicks center Guillermo Hernangomez has four games this week and over the past five games is averaging 9.6 points, 8.4 rebounds, two assists a block and a steal in less than 25 minutes a night. His shooting percentages are outstanding for a big man and his 18 percent Usage Rate is also encouraging. Hernangomez is available in just over 65 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.

Boston Celtics center Kelly Olynyk has four games this week and over his past five games Olynyk is averaging 14.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists and nearly two triples a night in 26 minutes a game. Solid shooting percentages with a 21.3 percent February Usage Rate and Olynyk is available in just over 65 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.
