Fantasy Basketball: Week 15 Waiver Wire Report

Week 15 of the Fantasy Basketball season begins on Monday January 30th. The Waiver Wire is chock full of opportunities to help you win your weekly matchup……so let’s get started!

 

Teams with four games this week are the Brooklyn Nets, Boston Celtics, Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons, Memphis Grizzlies, Minnesota Timberwolves, Oklahoma City Thunder, Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns and Toronto Raptors.

The Chicago Bulls and Utah Jazz have two games this week. Every other NBA team has three games on their schedule.

Need Steals This Week?

Memphis Grizzlies SG Tony Allen is averaging nearly two steals a night and with four games this week (Phoenix, Denver, Oklahoma City and Minnesota) he’ll have plenty of opportunities to rack up a bunch of steals to go along with his 9.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and one assist per game. Allen is available in just over 80 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball Leagues.

Need Some Help With Assists?

Denver Nuggets PG Jameer Nelson is averaging 31.4 minutes a game over his last five games and more importantly he’s averaging seven assists a night over that same five game stretch. With four games this week (Lakers, Memphis, Milwaukee, San Antonio) that’s 28 or more assists than you had last week. He’s also good for ten points a game, two rebounds, a steal or two and a triple or two a night. Nelson is currently available in over 85 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.

How About Blocks This Week?

Toronto Raptors C Lucas Nogueira had ten blocked shots this week in just four games. This past week Nogueira averaged 21.8 minutes, 7.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and nearly a steal a night. The Raptors have four games this week (New Orleans, Boston, Orlando and Brooklyn) and is available in just over 90 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.

Week 15 Waiver Wire Suggestions

Boston Celtics PG/SG Marcus Smart has had a solid five game stretch averaging 9.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 2.4 steals while getting 32 minutes a game. He’ll also be good for a triple or two and with four games this week (Detroit, Toronto, Lakers, Clippers) there will be plenty of opportunities to score well for you in all the scoring categories. Smart is currently available in just over 65 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.

Brooklyn Nets PG/SG Sean Kilpatrick has been solid over the past five games averaging 14 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, one steal and nearly three triples a night in 26.8 minutes a game. The Nets have four games this week (Miami, Knicks, Indiana and Toronto) and Kilpatrick won’t hurt you in any of the scoring categories. He is currently available in just over 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.

Brooklyn Nets SG/SF Bojan Bogdanovic has been very good over the past five games averaging 15.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and nearly two three pointers a night while playing 26.8 minutes a night for the hapless Nets. The Nets have four games this week (Miami, Knicks, Indiana and Toronto) and Bogdanovic is available in just over 65 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.

Detroit Pistons SF/PF Marcus Morris has had a pretty good five game stretch averaging 17.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and two triples a night playing 37.5 minutes a game. The Pistons have four games this week (Boston, New Orleans, Minnesota and Indiana) and Morris is available in 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.

Phoenix Suns SG/SF/PF P.J. Tucker has averaged 34 minutes a night over the past five games and averaged 9.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, two assists and two steals plus one triple a night. The Suns have four games this week (Memphis, Clippers, Sacramento and Milwaukee) and is available in over 65 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.

Orlando Magic C Bismack Biyumbo averaged 21 minutes over his past five games went for 8.2 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.4 blocks. Orlando has four games this week (Minnesota, Toronto, Indiana and Atlanta) and is available in over 80 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.

Miami Heat SG Dion Waiters has been red hot over his last five games averaging 25.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists and just over three triples a night while playing 34 minutes. The Heat has just three games this week (Brooklyn, Atlanta and Philadelphia) and is available in just over 48 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.

San Antonio Spurs PF/C David Lee has been 28.8 minutes over his last five games and making the most of it averaging 12.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists. The Spurs have three games this week (Oklahoma City Thunder, Philadelphia and Denver) and is available in just over 65 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.

Charlotte Hornets SF Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has been averaging 30 minutes a game over the past five and averaged 12.2 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.8 blocks. Kidd-Gilchrist also is extremely solid in the shooting categories. The Hornets have three games this week (Portland, Golden State and Utah) and is available in just over 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.
