Fantasy Basketball: FanDuel Top Plays for Wednesday January 25, 2017

There are ten games on the Main NBA Slate at FanDuel tonight. There are plenty of options to consider and we have plenty to choose from tonight. Here are five plays I’m considering for tonight’s Main Slate at FanDuel.

Point Guard

The two worst defenses against Point Guards are the Brooklyn Nets and Portland Trail Blazers and as luck would have it both teams are playing tonight.

I think I’m going to leave the Lakers point guards alone tonight but I’m fairly high on Miami Heat point guard Goran Dragic ($7000) tonight. Over his past five games Dragic is averaging 34.8 FanDuel points a game and his 26.5 percent Usage Rate is a nice thing to see. He’s also knocking down two triples a night with four assists and four rebounds during that five game stretch. Decent 217 point over under and Miami are five point road favorites tonight.

Shooting Guard

The Brooklyn Nets are also the worst in the NBA against Shooting Guards. The third worst in the NBA is the Cleveland Cavaliers. Golden State is fourth worst against shooting guards so we have some work to do to find the best value tonight.

Charlotte Hornets shooting guard Nicolas Batum ($7100) laid an egg last night. That should keep people away from him tonight. Over his past five games he’s averaging 31.88 FanDuel points and that includes last night’s stinker. His Usage Rate is at 21.2 percent and over those last five games he’s averaged 7.4 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 1.2 steals plus one triple a game. Golden State is fourth from the bottom against shooting guards and is a 7.5 point road favorite in a game with a 223 point over under.

Small Forward

The Milwaukee Bucks and Brooklyn Nets are the two worst defenses against Small Forwards. The New Orleans Pelicans and Charlotte are in the bottom five also. All four teams are in action tonight.

He’s pricey and not my favorite player but Golden State Warriors Small Forward Kevin Durant ($10,300) probably is the best choice tonight at this position. Over the last five games Durant is averaging 49.42 FanDuel points a game on 32.4 minutes.  His 27.5 percent Usage Rate seems a bit low for the type of production we see from Durant but he’s so efficient that number doesn’t mean much. He’s also averaging 7.6 rebounds, 5 assists, two blocks and a steal plus 2.4 triples a night. Nice over under and the Warriors are the favorite tonight. Expensive but is he goes for 5x to 6x value he will be worth it.

Power Forward

The Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Lakers are the two worst teams against the Power Forward position. The Boston Celtics are in the bottom five also. All three teams are in action tonight.

I’ve had some success this season attacking the Celtics frontcourt so I think I am going to take a chance on Houston Rockets Power Forward Ryan Anderson ($4600). Anderson returned from injury on Monday and posted just under 20 FanDuel points in 29 minutes. What I like about him is his seven games with 30 FanDuel points or more. He pulls that off tonight and he will pay off 6x to 7x value and that is exactly what we are looking for in DFS tournaments.

Center

Brooklyn, the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers are the three worst teams against the Center position. All three are in action tonight.

I like Miami Heat Center Hassan Whiteside tonight against a Brooklyn Nets defense that allows nearly 40 FanDuel points per game to Centers. Over the past five games Whiteside has averaged 32.08 FanDuel points a game in 31 minutes per night played. Whiteside also has double doubles in four out of his last six games and has a 22.9 percent Usage Rate. Whiteside has eight games this season with 50 points or better and if he can do that tonight you will be one happy camper!

Good Luck at FanDuel tonight!!
